PROBLEM SOLVING & DECISION MAKING

Having a consistent rational process and organizational language to use in addressing the concerns within a company gives it an advantage over competitors that lack that discipline and allows for a more focused use of scarce resources. The Problem Solving & Decision Making course creates a common process and language for implementation and use in the enterprise.

OBJECTIVES

• Detail a specific process for addressing problems, decisions and projects.
• Create a common language that may be used throughout the organizations for dealing with issues.
• Illustrate the use of these processes on real concerns participants identify for examples in the classroom.
• Teach participants a process that allows for them to correct the actual cause of problems and not continue to address the symptoms.
• Teach participants how to prioritize issues that need to be dealt with.
• Explore a rational methodology for choosing from among a group of alternatives in decision making.
• Explore a methodology that protects those decisions we have made by avoiding future problem.

• Lecturettes, case studies, and practice applications using organization specific issues.
• Visuals include handouts, flip charts, overhead transparencies, and case studies.
