As more and more organizations see the benefits of
teamwork and employee involvement the greater the need to help
individuals to become a "member" of the team. We are
not all born with interaction skills and team skills. This program
is designed to introduce the team building process to those who
have a need to function within teams and to give mature teams
an opportunity to examine their effectiveness.
OBJECTIVES
- Define the concept of teamwork and how it is applied.
- Identify characteristics of an effective team.
- Identify the roles and responsibilities of individuals on
a team.
- Identify the steps in effective action planning designed to
enhance the effectiveness of the team.
- Identify ways in which teams can assure process and guidelines
are followed.
- Identify barriers to team development.
- Practice behaviors, which promote teamwork.
- Practice team audit procedures.

RECOMMENDED GROUP SIZE: 12-24

METHODS
- Lecturettes, small group discussions, personal assessment,
team appraisal instruments, and action planning are used to communicate
the program content.
Visuals include flip charts, hand out materials, and overhead
transparencies.
RESULTS
- As a primary result of participating in this workshop, employees
will learn how to work together in teams more effectively.
