Time has several unique qualities, one being; it cannot be saved. It must be spent, and if left unplanned it will be wasted. This course will encourage the participant to become aware that the best time is planned time.
OBJECTIVES
- Evaluate their own personal time management effectiveness.
- Explore myths and paradoxes pertaining to time management.
- Gain understanding on how to prioritize their task, then how to put it to use in everyday practice.
- Through discussions, will create a list of time wasters and evaluate how they waste a supervisor's time, peer's time, subordinate's time, or support staff's time.
- Use various tools for analyzing a daily time log and how to utilize their time more effectively.
- Participate in an introduction to effective meeting time to enable them to begin planning, conducting and evaluating meetings.
APPROPRIATE FOR: All employees
RECOMMENDED GROUP SIZE: 16-24
DURATION: Four (4) to eight (8) hours
METHODS
- Lecturettes, small group discussions and exercises.
- Visuals will include handouts, sample forms, overhead transparencies, and flip charts.
RESULTS
- Participates will be able to recognize time wasters and make appropriate moves to manage their time more efficiently.
